The Canoe Reach residence is an award wining design by Brisbane Design Architect Brian Steendyk. The house is sited on a panoramic bend of the Brisbane River.

The library and lounge box feed off the courtyard level and cantilevers out across the pool to take in breathtaking views up and down the Brisbane River. Creating a retreat for the occupants. Made up of single-pane glazing, the pavilion is tinted and treated to the equivalent of double-insulated glass. Glass louvre panels have been strategically placed, taking advantage of the natural cross flow ventilation. The Vental retractable louvre blinds protect the west facing facades from the sun. Adjusting the angle of the Vental external blinds, blocks direct sunlight and glare, allowing the occupants to maintain uninterrupted views of the Brisbane river any time of the day.
